To make it easy for you, I broke it down into 4 steps.
Let’s dive right in to it.
Here’s the 10-step SEO strategy you should follow to dominate Google in 2020:
Step #1 Optimize Your Website for Voice Search
More and more mobiles and their apps are enabled with voice search. Voice searches increases drastically as it is so handy. You don’t need to type, just open your mouth.
People around the world live busy lives: balance between work and family, so lots of people prefer to make a voice search on the go compared to usual search when you type. It is so quick and convenient.
Your website and business have to take this into the account. You have to optimise your website for a voice search.
If you don’t, you might be losing out your customers.
The text search and voice search are different.
Step#2 Guest Posts on High Authority Websites
Did you know, that Guest posts written on related and high-authority websites have potential to rank on the first page of Google. Woyla!
But, don’t get confused…Not every website is valuable to your business.
The higher the authority of the website , that links to your website, the bigger impact is going to have on your website.
For example just one link from Forbes or another well known publication is more powerful that hundred of back-links from law authority websites.
Here is a challenge
How to pitch your ideas for guest posting.
Here are some useful and easy-to-follow tips:
- Make a list of relevant websites that accept guest posts
- Find out if they are high authority websites
- Don’t use templates! Instead, create a customized pitch for each outreach
- Follow the submission guidelines strictly of the websites you are pitching to
Step #3 Stay active on Social Media Platforms
We all know that Social Media Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others are very high authority domains, therefore they rank extremely well on search engines.
Be present and creative on Social Media Platforms. This could help you rank very well for your chosen keywords.
This depends on the industry you are in and competition.
Here are some important tips for your social media marketing:
- Make sure that social media profiles/pages setup with high-quality visual content
- The best practice is use a variety of visual content: photos, videos, infographics, cinemographs etc
- Be active on your social profiles. It could be challenging to be active, but here is our Top tip: It’s better to have an active 1 or two social media profiles, than have 10, but all of them not active. Be consistent. Consistency is the key.
- Fill social media profiles and pages correctly: all your details, your story, products etc
Step #4 Improve the User Experience
Google takes Bounce rate (the average time website visitors stays on your site) very seriously.
Content on its own is boring! It needs to be professionally wrapped with High Quality Visuals: Videos, High quality photos, Cinemagraphs, Infographics etc.
Don’t stick to one type. Combine different types. Your website visitors will LOVE it.
Once you implement Visual Content Strategy, you’ll see that the Bounce rate will decrease over time.
Also, make your website easy to browse on, don’t put too much information as it looks too wordy, choose a simply layout and don’t overdo it!
Step #5 Be Creative to build back-links
Link building in 2020 is still very important SEO factor.
Of course, Google is looking at many other factors now and there are nearly 200, but link building still stays between the most important ones.
But it is harder to build links than it used to be back in the day. There are so many websites and blogs being published every minute, every second. Everyone is blogging…
But, that means there are ever more sites to hit up and ask for a link. The thing is everyone is doing that.
So how do you build links when everyone is getting those spam emails asking for a link, such as the one below?
You have to create something very useful, beneficial or entertaining.
“What do you mean” you think, right?
You have to create something so amazing that everyone wants to link to it without you even asking for a link.
Here is one idea.
If you can create something awesome, something that people are used to paying for.
Here is an example. The consulting firm Price Intelligently released a free analytics software called ProfitWell.
With very little marketing, they were able to generate 943 back-links from 187 domains.
You also can create something new, not that usual and that your competitors aren’t doing.
For example animated infographic.
An animated infographic is a visually appealing creation full of data, facts, figures, and stats. You can use animated infographic for any topic and transform often boring figures into lively, memorable experiences. The motion in it will naturally make you stand out from the crowd, will capture the attention of the human eye and will encourage an engagement.
Here is just a few samples that will make a massive difference:
- animated moving text
- diagrams, pie and bar charts, line graphs
- and other various components
Its a new and creative type of link-building.
The old school link building techniques still work, but it will be harder in 2020.
Get your creative juices together and succeed online.
Step #6 Use Keywords, Synonyms and long tale keywords
Don’t overdo your SEO. Google reads it’s as keyword-stuffing and your website will get penalized.
Instead, go to your content, add, update and use long take keywords and synonyms.
Search Engines love to see your old content being updated!
If the post didn’t rank well before, it doesn’t mean it will not appear high after updating content.
Here are some smart tips how to use keywords for better SEO:
- Use keyword in the title of your every page and post
- Include targeted keyword in the very first paragraph. The closer it is, the better.
- Keyword rich subheadings
- Sprinkle keywords/variations, synonyms, and long tale keywords throughout your content
Step #7 Write Helpful Guides and how-to tutorials
If you have an e-book, you can promote it on as many sites as possible, which can help with your rankings.
Google owns YouTube, therefore YouTube videos come up on page number 1 of Google.
If you create a YouTube channel with professional how- to- guides etc this can massively improve your SEO strategy.
Did you know, that keywords, including “how-to” are referred as video keywords, therefor How-to videos tends to rank very well.
Step #8 Use Google Maps for local business
Paid ads and Local listings come up first now with a big map, and only then comes organic traffic, that has been cut to 9 per page.
This is the best opportunity for you to be seen very quickly. It’s too important to be ignored.
So don’t miss out and add you Business on Google maps. Make sure its accurate and up to date. When you add Your Business to Google maps, you also show up on the right column where other information is visible too: address, phone, operating hours, reviews, photos. It also makes you a bit more credible!
Google shows only 3 results in Google maps.
Here are top tips to get higher in Google maps :
The proximity of your Business physical address, to the user is the most significant local search factor. It is how close your Business address is from the person, who is putting the keywords in to the Google search bar. If you are just a few km away from that person, you have much better chances to show up than your competitors, who are located much further.
2. Category/ keyword match
how close your business category and keywords match with the ones, that re put into the google search bar
3. SEO Signals
That’s all about back-lings:related, high authority back-links to your website and inner links.
Citations are mentions of your Business anywhere on the internet. Its an important factor and it serves as a unique online footprint and helps current and potential clients to find information about Your Business.
Search engines pull information from citations to determine where is Your business located in order to deliver accurate results.
There are 3 things you need to consider, so called NAP:
- N: ame
all these details has to be the same and very accurate all over the internet, so it doesn’t confuse Google. The more consistency, the better.
Also, like everything in our lives, its not just about the volume, but quality matters too.
So list Your Business in all the directories and review sites and make sure that all the details are very accurate.
I also recommend to review your citations every now and then, as directories often pull data from other outside sources.
5. Google Reviews
Google Reviews do help improve local search rankings.
To maximize your online reviews, make sure to stay mindful of online business review sites like Yelp, Google, and others. Respond to all reviews: both good and bad.
Don’t be shy to ask customers you know were satisfied with their purchase to leave you a review on Google or other review platforms. Just asking the question will significantly raise the likelihood of you receiving positive referrals online and boosting your local SEO ranking!
But that’s not it.
You may wonder, does responding to google reviews actually help local SEO? And is it importance to respond to reviews?
Google officially has announced, that responding to reviews ads up to the rankings. It’s about time you spend on building the relationships with clients. Now days, 88% of consumers trust online reviews as much as personal recommendations. Think about it yourself, when was the last time you didn’t read the reviews about a business before visiting for the first time?
Reviews impact the success of a business more than most brands realize. When 97% of consumers say reviews influence their buying decision, review management has to be a priority for every consumer-facing business.
Step #9 Use killer headlines
Sometimes ranking high doesn’t guarantee your website a visit. Titles are extremely important. Now days, lots of company’s stuff titles with too much words, keywords.
Use keywords the right way, but don’t overdo it. If it’s too spammy, nobody is going to click on it.

Step #10 Build a brand
Google has been paying more attention on brands. If more and more people put your brand in a search bar, over time, your website will get up the Google ladder.
What are brands?
Brands are the solution, not the problem. Brands are how you sort out the problem.
If you want to succeed on Google in the long run, you have to build a brand.
Yes, it does take time…But it’s worth it! As your brand grows, your search traffic will grow too.
How can you monitor your brand growth?
Use Google Trends. Type in your brand name into Google Trends and your competitors. And compare.
There is no quick way to build a brand.
But there is a way to make it quicker.
So what is the right way, you might ask?
Be extreme and do something better or something new, that your competitors don’t.
You can build your brand by networking, doing webinars, blogging, speaking at conferences, running ads etc… but these aren’t the new tactics and ways, that build a brand that has a loyal following.
You wander why? Because lots of your competitors already doing this.
If you want a string brand like Apple, Amazon, Microsoft, extreme is the way to go.
So how do you do something that is extreme?
Do the opposite, don’t copy your competitors
Here are some examples:
- Genuinely help people. Find blogs, social media platforms your targeted audience hang out and share your tips, advises and hacks. Not only it builds connections and relationships, but increases trust. Chances are, that those people will turn into customers.
- Create video content. Video content is the future! Its too big to be ignored. People love watching videos.
No matter what industry you are in, you have competition. It doesn’t really matter if you are a B2B or a B2C business… you have competition, which makes it hard to build a brand.
Here is how you do it. Differentiate yourself.
You do so by being different.
Here is an example. United States has lots of cell phone carriers. But T-Mobile decided to
offer free Netflix, unlimited data, and free roaming. This made them to stand out from all the competition.
Here is another extreme Brand Building Strategy.
Zappos.com decided to go very extreme. They offered a refund policy that lasted 1 year. I know, it’s hard to believe it, but it’s a real strategy. Can you believe it???…yes…and now just image if you return a shoe to them after 12 months, they won’t be able to resell it.
What they did next was they have changed their shipping. Randomly they would decide and upgrade their shipping from ground shipping to you to 2-day or next-day air. Ridiculously amazing, right?
This is one more extreme example.
The biggest online shop in the world Amazon crushed their competition the moment they rolled out their Prime program. When it first came out, you would get free 2-day shipping on all Prime products with a cost of just $99 a year. This is a ridiculously amazing offer. Who can resist it? Could you?
So these were the secrets how to dominate Google Search results.
I hope now, with so many tips revealed, you are on the right track and will get up on the Google ladder.
SEO isn’t easy process. SEO takes lots of hard work and time.
Boost your rankings by implementing these hacks that works very well.
You will see an improvement within time. Be patient. Paris wasn’t built over night, right? So weren’t brands.
